ROD Cycling is a boutique indoor cycling studio that required a custom-built Progressive Web Application (PWA) to manage their entire business operation. I developed a seamless, mobile-first solution that handles everything from class scheduling to payment processing and physical studio access.

The Challenge

The client needed to migrate from manual bookings to a fully automated digital ecosystem. The main challenges included:

Real-time Availability: Preventing overbooking by ensuring that seat/bike selection was updated instantly across all users.

Payment Security: Implementing a robust and secure checkout flow for class packages.

Access Control: Creating a frictionless way for users to check in at the physical studio without manual staff intervention.

User Experience: Building a web app that felt like a native mobile app (PWA) to ensure high retention on smartphones.

Results and Quick Wins

Automated Lifecycle: Successfully launched a "Zero-Touch" booking system where the user buys, reserves, and checks in via QR code without needing to speak to staff.

High Performance: Leveraged Next.js and Vercel to achieve near-instant load times, which is critical for users trying to book popular class times during "rush" windows.

Secure Scaling: Integrated Stripe to handle secure transactions, resulting in a reliable revenue stream with automated invoicing and payment confirmation.

Quick Win: Developed a Visual Seat Mapper. Instead of a simple dropdown list, I built an interactive layout of the studio. This allowed users to pick their specific bike/spot in the room, significantly improving the user experience and increasing engagement during the booking process.
